I had a phone call last month from my phone company (I thought). The caller ID showed "Out Of Area" and the message was "We are calling about your (Name of my phone company) account and we are calling about a problem with your account. Please call us back at (a watts number) ASAP". I thought maybe they had posted my payment to the wrong account or something. I called and it was a company I had never heard of saying trying to get me to change my phone service to THEM. I cussed them out and hung up.

Since that day, I get a call from them at least once a day. NOW they say their name something like CompTel or ComTell and have a recording about saving money on your phone bill. I called and told them "do not call me". Next day, another call.

I called and told them "I am on the federal Do not call list and I will report you". They said "no you can't. YOU called us which means I INITIATED BUSINESS WITH THEM". They are now allowed to call me for I think 1 year.

I have wrote a letter to the attorney general and plan to contact the Better Business but be warned. I don't know if they are JUST doing this in Arkansas or all over but IF YOU CALL THEM, THEY CAN HURRASS YOU AND YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

Check to see if you have call blocker on your account.If you do find out how to use.If you know their #youcan use right away.If you do not know their # the next time they call as soon as you hang up then you can block their call.I have used this myself.I already have this option so I just looked in the front pages of phone on what to do.
